Recorded from BlueMap’s own web map on a test server, with claims made beforehand by bot players running the plugin’s commands.

Verified before release

Version 1.1.0 was started on real servers running Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 before it was published. The jar you download is the exact one that passed. How releases work

This is not a release. It is unreleased, unreviewed code that has not been through any release check, and a broken build can stop a server from starting. Do not run it on a server you care about without a backup.

MF_Bluemap-1.1.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (1.2 MB)

1.1.0

For a server running v1.0.0, the web map now matches Medieval Factions more closely. Claims and unclaims appear correctly right away instead of trailing by one change. A disbanded faction's territory is removed from the map without a restart. The default-color.fill-color and default-color.line-color settings, which v1.0.0 ignored, now work if you turn them on. Factions keep the same colours unless you change your configuration.

Changes

Map accuracy

  • Fixed the map lagging one claim behind: after a claim or unclaim, the map now shows the faction's current territory instead of its state before that change (#15).
  • When a faction is disbanded, its territory is now removed from the map. Before, it stayed until the next restart (#16).

Faction colours

  • New default-color.mode setting for factions with no entry under factions:. auto (the default) uses the faction's colour flag in Medieval Factions, or a colour derived from its faction ID if the flag is unset. fixed paints every such faction with default-color.fill-color and default-color.line-color, which now take effect. Any value other than fixed counts as auto. If fixed is set but either colour is not a valid hex value, the plugin logs a warning and uses per-faction colours (#7).
  • Stopped the console warning logged for factions whose colour flag is still the random placeholder. Those factions still get their ID-derived colour as before (#13).

Version

v1.0.0 → 1.1.0 — MINOR. Mechanical floor from comparing the two jars: MINOR. Judgment: This release adds behaviour that existing servers won't break on: a new opt-in default-color.mode key and a new listener that removes disbanded factions from the map. Existing config.yml files lack the new key, and it defaults to auto, which is the same as v1.0.0: the faction's colour flag first, then a colour derived from its ID. The fallback colour formula is unchanged and a test confirms it matches the old one. The other changes fix bugs or are internal refactors, tests, build and CI, so the minor floor stands.

  • minor: default config key added: default-color.mode

  • com.kilz.mfbluemap.BlueMapIntegration: added public void onFactionDisband(com.dansplugins.factionsystem.event.faction.FactionDisbandEvent);

Verification

Verified on a real Spigot server before publication; this release carries the exact jar that was verified.

  • boot gate run: booted twice on a fresh Spigot server running Minecraft 26.2 (11 assertions passed).
  • boot gate run: booted twice on a fresh Spigot server running Minecraft 26.3 (11 assertions passed).

First release of Bluemap_MedievalFactions.

Renders Medieval Factions land claims as shape overlays on a BlueMap web map. Contiguous claimed chunks belonging to the same faction are merged into single polygons — including holes for enclaves — and updated in real time as claims change.

Installation

  1. Download MF_Bluemap-1.0.0.jar below and place it in your server's plugins/ folder.
  2. Restart the server.

Requires Medieval Factions and BlueMap, both already installed and enabled. The plugin uses only the Bukkit API, so it runs on Spigot as well as Paper.

Highlights

  • Claims are drawn on the right map. Each world's claims go only on the BlueMap maps that render that world. Previously a single shared marker set was registered on every map, so Overworld claims were drawn over the Nether at unscaled coordinates — eight times out of place, given the 1:8 ratio.
  • Territory is coloured from the faction's own colour flag in Medieval Factions, so the web map matches the colour players already see in chat and on territory titles. The faction-ID hash remains as a fallback when the flag is unset.
  • Built against Medieval Factions 6.0.0.
  • Per-faction colour overrides, configurable overlay Y-level, and a %faction% label format — see CONFIG.md.

Configuration changes need a server restart; the plugin registers no commands, so there is no in-game reload.

Notes for contributors

The build was not reproducible before this release. pom.xml resolves Medieval Factions by path from a gitignored libs/, and CI ran on JDK 17 while bluemap-api and paper-api ship Java 21 class files — so no CI build had ever succeeded. Both are fixed, and CONTRIBUTING.md documents the prerequisites.
