Verified before release

Version 2.1.0 was started on real servers running Minecraft 1.19.4, 1.21.11, 26.2 and 26.3 before it was published. The jar you download is the exact one that passed. How releases work

This is not a release. It is unreleased, unreviewed code that has not been through any release check, and a broken build can stop a server from starting. Do not run it on a server you care about without a backup.

Conquest-Recipes-2.1.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (131.3 KB)

2.1.0

For a server running v2.0.0 this is a drop-in upgrade with no breaking changes. Usage reporting now also sends a random server ID, so the author can count servers rather than raw events. If reporting is on, the plugin adds a server-id: line to plugins/trace/config.yml on first start. This release also supports Minecraft 26.3.

Changes

Usage reporting

  • Each usage event now includes a random server ID, sent as the tag install. It is generated once with a random UUID and kept as the server-id: line in plugins/trace/config.yml, under a comment explaining what it is. All plugins on the server that report to trace share this one ID. It identifies no person, account or IP address. To get a new one, delete the line. The rest of the file is left exactly as it was (#96)
  • If reporting is turned off (this plugin's usage-reporting.enabled: false, enabled: false in plugins/trace/config.yml, TRACE_USAGE_REPORTING=off or DO_NOT_TRACK=1), no ID is generated, read, written or sent (#96)
  • The startup notice and the comments in config.yml now mention the random server ID (#98)
  • The usage-reporting details link now points to https://danielstephenson.dev/usage-reporting (#100)

Compatibility

  • Added support for Minecraft 26.3 (#99)

Version

v2.0.0 → 2.1.0 — MINOR. Mechanical floor from comparing the two jars: PATCH. Judgment: Every usage-reporting event now carries a new install tag: a random server ID. When reporting is enabled, the plugin also writes new data to disk by appending a server-id: line to plugins/trace/config.yml. That is new behaviour and new data written, which the mechanical check saw only as added TraceClient API methods. Support for Minecraft 26.3 is also new. Nothing breaks for existing servers: no config keys, commands, permissions or data formats change incompatibly, and every existing opt-out still works and writes nothing. So minor is the right level, not major.

  • no interface or storage difference observed between the jars

<details><summary>Java API changes (informational — nothing depends on this plugin)</summary>

  • conquestrecipesystem.trace.TraceClient: added public java.lang.String installId();
  • conquestrecipesystem.trace.TraceClient: added public static java.lang.String installIdFromFile(java.io.File);
  • conquestrecipesystem.trace.TraceClient$Builder: added public conquestrecipesystem.trace.TraceClient$Builder installId(java.lang.String);
  • conquestrecipesystem.trace.TraceClient$Builder: added public conquestrecipesystem.trace.TraceClient$Builder installIdFile(java.io.File);

</details>

2.0.0

Conquest-Recipes adds a set of custom crafting recipes for themed weapons, armour and materials. The items include primitive stone, bone and wooden weapons, bronze and steel tools and blades, Greek plate and bronze helmets, Mesoamerican gear such as macuahuitls, chimalli shields and eagle and jaguar helmets, and crafting materials like copper, tin, bronze ingots and steel ingots. Players make these items at an ordinary crafting table. It suits roleplay, historical and conquest-style servers that want a wider range of era-appropriate gear without a mod. The items need a resource pack to show their custom textures. Without one they look like their vanilla base items.

What it adds

  • /conquestrecipes (also /cr): the plugin's command. Subcommands:

    • /cr list: lists the craftable items, one page at a time. Needs conquestrecipes.listitems, which everyone has by default.
    • /cr get <item>: gives you a Conquest Recipes item. Needs conquestrecipes.get, which only ops have by default.
  • conquestrecipes.default (everyone by default) gives access to the default commands. conquestrecipes.admin (ops by default) gives access to all commands.

  • Crafting recipes for every item in the set. They are registered when the plugin enables.

  • usage-reporting in config.yml: on by default. On startup and each time a command is used, the plugin sends the plugin name, the event name, the plugin version and the command name to https://trace.danielstephenson.dev. Nothing about players or the server is sent. Sending happens off the main thread and is dropped silently if the endpoint can't be reached. You can turn it off in several ways:

    • For this plugin only: set usage-reporting.enabled: false.
    • For every plugin that uses trace: set enabled: false in plugins/trace/config.yml.
    • For the whole server process: set the environment variable TRACE_USAGE_REPORTING=off or DO_NOT_TRACK=1.

    Every startup, the console says whether reporting is on, or why it is off.

What it writes

  • plugins/Conquest-Recipes/config.yml: written on first start. An existing file is left as it is, except that a config from before usage reporting existed gets the usage-reporting block added, so the switch can be seen and changed.
  • plugins/trace/config.yml: the server-wide usage-reporting switch. It is created on first start if it is missing, and the plugin never turns it back on.

The plugin keeps no other data. There is no player data and no database.

Requirements

  • A Spigot/Paper server for Minecraft 1.13 or newer (api-version: 1.13).
  • No other plugins are required.
  • A resource pack, if you want the items to show their custom textures.
  • Outbound HTTPS access only if you leave usage reporting on. Nothing breaks without it.

Since the last prerelease

  • Fixed duplicate recipe keys that stopped the plugin from enabling on current Spigot (#84).
  • Bukkit constants that were renamed between versions are now looked up by name, so the plugin loads on both older and newer servers. The supported Minecraft versions are now declared (#89).
  • /cr list and /cr get now use the same item set, so every listed item can be fetched by the same name (#92).
  • /cr list output is now split into pages (#70).
  • /cr get handles its arguments correctly. /cr get and /cr list now behave properly when run from the console (#67).
  • An unrecognised /cr subcommand now gets a reply instead of being ignored silently (#77).
  • Permission refusals for /cr get and /cr list now name both nodes that would grant access (#88).
  • Added usage reporting, sent off the main thread, with an opt-out in config.yml (#78).
  • Usage reporting is now disclosed: a notice on every startup, a server-wide opt-out in plugins/trace/config.yml, and environment-variable opt-outs (#80).
  • Usage-reporting events now include the plugin version (#91).

Snapshot release marking Conquest-Recipes's move to an AI-first development approach.

Day-to-day feature work, grooming, review and maintenance now run through AI agents working directly against this repository, with the maintainers setting direction and approving what lands. The version bump marks that change in how the project is built — it is not a compatibility break. Behaviour, configuration and stored data are unchanged, and existing installations can upgrade in place.

This is a dated snapshot, not a finished release. It follows the precedent set by Medieval Factions' 6.0.0-SNAPSHOT-7-25-2026: the AI-first line has not yet been verified in live operation, and the snapshot designation stays until it has.

Version changes

  • pom.xml: 1.1-SNAPSHOT → 2.0.0-SNAPSHOT-8-8-2026
